The Cake of May

This is a recipe that’s been in my family as long as I can remember. My mom made this cake for me on my 3rd birthday. We thought the recipe was long gone, but a few years ago we finally found it again. Now my mom makes this cake for my birthday every year as she did when I was a kid.  I really love this cake, it’s one of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted in my whole life, and believe me when I say I’ve tasted a lot of different cakes throughout the years. But this one is the very best! We got a winner! This is a cake that symbolizes Taurus. So it’s a perfect cake id you’re born in May. It’s a perfect cake even though you’re not born in may a well. It’s perfect for any party!

Ingedients:

125 g Butter

125 g Granulated sugar

3 Eggs

125g All purpose flour

1 dl Cocoa powder

25g Cornflour

2 Tsp baking powder

1 Tsp vanilla sugar

1 dl whipping cream

2 dl apple sauce

Filling:

1 dl Apple sauce

Frosting:

100 g Butter

3 TBSP Cocoa powder

4 dl Powderd sugar

2 Tsp vanilla sugar

1 Egg

Garnish:

Strawberries

How to make May Cake:

Start by Pre-heat the oven to about 350 degrees. Then mix sugar and butter until smooth. Add one egg at a time, and mix it well together. Add the flour, cornflour, baking powder, Cocoa powder and vanilla sugar and mix it all well together. Then you ad the whipping cream and the apple sauce. When you’ve mixed everything well together, pour the mix into a grated baking form that holds about 1  ½ L. Cover it up with baking paper. Bake the cake in the oven for about 45 min. When you take the cake out of the oven put it aside and let it cool down completely.

Melt the butter for the frosting and let it cool. Then add Cocoa powder and vanilla sugar. Whisk one egg together, and add it into the mix. Then whisk it all good together until you have a smooth frosting.

Cut the cake in half, so you end up having two layers.  put one layer of apple sauce on the bottom layer of the cake, then add 1/3 of the frosting on top. Gently place the top layer on top and cover the whole cake with the rest of the frosting.

Cut strawberries in half(sideways) and decorate your cake with fresh strawberries. It will look fresh, and tasty. We all now how well Chocolate and Strawberries goes together.
