Blueberry and black currant season.

It’s a new week, and plenty of time for some good home cooking. Today my mom wanted to make me Chicken wings served with garlic bread and I love it when she cooks for me so I agreed. The rest of the week I’ll be making dinner though. Today our black currant bush in the backyard was ready for harvesting. We got a whole large mixing bowl filled with berries. An old man in our neighborhood was so excited and wanted us to make jam. Then he tells this story about how this old lady who lives in the house right next door to him had made him several jars of jam from the berries he had in his garden. I’m not going to do that but what I might actually make a pie maybe, not sure yet. We’ll see what happens next with the berries. But from one type of berries to another. Blue berries. I’m planning on making a blueberry pie or blueberry muffins on Sunday. Why on Sunday? because Sundays are perfect for baking. There’s nothing better than to bake a blueberry muffin or pie while your favorite Sunday stew is cooking on the stove. Nothing is like the smell of a cinnamon buns and blueberry muffins in the morning, or in the afternoon for that matter. Not everyone can wake up at 6 a.m. and bake muffins for breakfast. But who say’s we can’t make it for an afternoon snack, or a dessert for that matter? Muffins are perfect for any part of the day. Breakfast, lunch, brunch, dessert after dinner, midnight snack or for what ever part of the day you might crave a muffin. I’m for sure making Blueberry muffins on Sunday and you can bet I’ll blog about it! I do have a confession to make. I’ve never ever in my lifetime made blueberry muffins before. But I do have a great family recipe for muffins, and I believe that adding blueberries to that recipe will be amazing. sprinkle some sugar on top before putting them into the oven and boom I’ve made blueberry muffins for the first time. I believe it’s going to be fun, but you never know it might end in chaos as well, all there is left to do is to wait and see what happens. Now I really got the craving for some baked goods, but I guess I’ll have to wait until Sunday the ultimate bake day.

I hope you have an amazing day and sprinkle some love into your cooking! until next time, have great day.
