Hey everyone!

Today I’m making boiled cod, I know it sounds boring and not that interesting but it used to be one of my favorite things to eat when I was a kid. strange huh? well, it’s the truth. We (as in me and my mom) try to have at least one fish dinner a week. Last week we had fried cod, this week I’m making boiled cod.  Fish doesn’t need to be boring, you can do so much with a little inspiration. Some people simply don’t like fish and that’s perfectly fine, but if you do like fish or want to eat fish once a week that’s great. Today I’m serving boiled cod served with boiled broccoli, carrots, potatoes and last but not least melted butter. It is as simple as it sound, and it taste better than you might think..

2 Cod fillets

4 Carrots

1 broccoli

6 potatoes

How to make Hetty’s fish dish of the week:

1 First start by boiling the potatoes and the carrots in salted water. The boil up some salted water in a different pot. When the water is boiling set it aside and gently slide down the fish and poach the fish for about 10 minutes.

2. Boil up salted water.Wash and clean the broccoli, cut it into small bouquets and boil them for 5 minutes. Melt some butter in a sauce pan for serving. When the potatoes, carrots, fish and the broccoli are done plate it up and pour some butter over it before serving.

I love how simple this dish is to make and how tasty it is. I know it might sound boring but if you like fish, and if you like cod then give it try it’s so so good! I don’t like under any circumstances what is called eat cod lion. Why? because It’s often frozen, it’s full of bones and I simply don’t like it. The only fish I buy frozen now a days is fried cod, that is my only exception when it comes to fish.

Tomorrow I’m making ham and cheese pie with a Greek salad on the side, I’m really excited about that.. I don’t have any expectations because I’ve never made it myself before. I know the recipe have been in the family for many years but I just haven’t gotten around to actually try the recipe myself yet, but tomorrow that will change. Wish me luck, I’m’ sure I’m going to need it.

I hope all of you are having an amazing Tuesday, and I hope to see you back here tomorrow for a new post, my very own first try at our families ham and cheese pie recipe!
