Hetty’s Pasta Sunday

Hey everyone!

Today I made pasta with bacon and a cheese sauce. The sauce came from a sauce mix that I bought in the store but with a little improvement, it was amazing. Today I’m going to show you how I made it all I use fresh bacon that I buy at the grocery store. I prefer to buy a pack of long sliced bacon. That way I can cut the bacon with scissors in the shapes and sizes I want. Some people buy a pack of diced bacon in the store, that is a BIG no-no in my vocabulary with a capital B. Why? because it tastes like pure fat and it makes me literally nauseous when I eat it. I know some people like it, so I’m not judging anyone but if you were to ask me what kind of bacon you should use I would say fresh, sliced bacon that you can easily cut up with scissors into bits and pieces. ( I will post a photo of how to do it.)  When it comes to the sauce, all you need to do is follow the instruction on how much liquid to add and how long to cook it for. Other than that simply add one fed of minced garlic, some pepper, and red chili flakes, let it boil for about a minute or to before adding the fried bacon and you’re good to go. Now let’s take a closer look at the ingredients I used how to prepare it.

Ingredients:

0,6 lb of long sliced Bacon ( 280g )

2 packs of Quattro Formaggi pasta sauce from Knorr ( 1 oz. in each pack/27g)

Pasta

1 clove of minced garlic

Pepper

Red chili flakes

Butter

Parmesan

How to make pasta with bacon and a cheese sauce:

  1. Start by cutting up the bacon with scissors in the size you prefer. Add some butter to a pan, and add the bacon as the butter has melted.  Season with Pepper and red chili flakes. Start by prepping the pasta as shown on the package.
  2. While the pasta is in the game, and you got the bacon going start making the sauce as shown on the package. When you’ve mixed together the sauce as written on the back of the package season with pepper, red chili flakes and one clove of minced garlic. Let it simmer for a minute before adding the bacon and a dash of butter.
  3. Drain the pasta water and add the preferable amount of pasta into a serving bowl, pour the bacon and cheese sauce over and mix it well together, sprinkle some parmesan over the top before serving.

I hope you like this dish as much as we do. Even though I used a sauce mix I managed to improve it, and the result was great.
