The day before the big celebration

Hey everyone!

Enjoying my morning coffee, waiting on the electrition to get here, and the local handyman told us that we need a new roof over our shed and it’s going to be expensive, we might end up paying $1500 for the job including building/roof material. But that ain’t happening right away but later this summer. Apparently, the roof over our shed is leaking water.  Luckily for us, the weather forecast hasn’t predicted any rain the next couple of weeks. So this is how my morning started. You knew you’ve pressed the snooze button too many times when the door-bell is what’s waking you up at 8 a.m.

It’s the day before the day. I’m super excited about tomorrow. There is a saying, “Behind every big holiday celebration there is a strong woman making it all possible.” That’s very true. no matter how many people we get over for any holiday; We clean, we decorate, we go shopping, we cook and we plan. We are the rock that keeps the family together and does all the behind the scene work to make it great.

My tip for today is to do as much prep-work as you possibly can to make tomorrow easier.  I have a lot to do, because of everything going on around here the past few days I haven’t been able to clean the house. So today I’m cleaning the whole house and I’m going to prep as much food as I can, to make it a lot easier for me tomorrow. If you are having a BBQ tomorrow you can marinate the meat tonight, set the table and finish any decorating before going to be bed tonight. The more food you prep tonight the less you stressful tomorrow will be. Make the salads, the casserole dishes, marinate the meat and do as much as you can today. Why? because tomorrow like any other year will be stressful in every way it was last year. So the more you do today, the less you have to do tomorrow.

I’m excited about tomorrow, the food, the family quality time and to celebrate our great nation.

I need to sign off now, I have a whole house waiting for me to be cleaned and I have some food to prep. I will, on the other hand, be back tomorrow with a new festive post.

I hope all of you are having an amazing day and I hope everything goes well with all the food prep today. Stay strong, be yourself and keep in cooking.
