Food talk Thursday – Chicken soup or not?

Hey everyone!

Chicken soup would do the trick when you’re not feeling well, but the fact is I’ve never made Chicken soup before. Now I got an idea, I need to learn how to make chicken soup. Another time, another place but I do need to try that sometimes. I might go digging in my grandmother’s recipe book and see if I can find a good recipe for  Chicken soup. Do y’all like chicken soup? have you ever made it before? leave a comment down below and let me know.

Sometimes when you’re in the kitchen all day cooking you forget the basic recipes. You’re in this bubble of creating new recipes and the recipes you already know way too well. But it comes to a point when you stop for a moment and start thinking about all the good recipes you had an as a kid. All the family dinners, Sunday dinners with the whole family. Recipes that your mom or your grandma used to make all the time. Comfort foods, the kind of food that brings back all the childhood memories with only one bite. Tomorrow I might take a dive into my grandmother’s recipe books and see if I could find some good old recipes that I’ve never tried to make myself before.  The thing about my grandmother is that she used to have it all in her head and in her hands. She knew all the basic recipes, never wrote them down but she knew them all so well. But she learned my mom a lot of the recipes she knew and my mom have a recipe book if I’m not remembering wrong, that is filled with family recipes.

But you know, back to chicken soup. We always bring chicken soup to the sick people. If a neighbor,  a family member, a friend or maybe even an acquaintance is sick we almost automatically bring them chicken soup. Why chicken soup? I’ve always wondered, well the fact is that a simple bowl of chicken soup may actually have a mild anti-inflammatory effect that can help ease your cold symptoms. Chicken noodle soup is a great dish to make during winter because it actually contains a lot of wonderful nutrients that we need during the winter.

The conclusion of the day is that I need to learn how to make chicken soup.

Maybe I’ll find some good old chicken soup recipe that I can try to make next week, or maybe not. It all depends on what I can find in my family’s recipe books tomorrow.

This post was short, a little wired and a lot of talk about chicken soup. That aside, I hope all of you are having an amazing Thursday so far and I hope to see you all back here tomorrow for a new post and a new recipe. I’m super excited about tomorrows post.
