Hetty’s Sunday Food talk

Hey everyone!

It got late last night working on next weeks post and my book writing, I woke up later than planned today and started the day with a bowl of cereal and a good cup of coffee. Sometimes a bowl of cereal is just what you need to kick-start your day even though you’re a food blogger and should have made pancakes since it’s the weekend and all.

It’s Sunday and during the fall and during the winter I love to bake on Sundays. I have a confession to make. I’ve never ever baked an apple pie or cobbler pie before. So this upcoming fall I’ve decided to learn how to make apple pie.

Baking is fun, but sometimes I feel like I run out of things to bake. Normally I would bake a good apple cake or cinnamon buns,  or my mom would make me her famous may cake. During December and Christmas, on the other hand, I bake a lot, cookies and more cookies and Delfia cake and who knows what. I tried to have this baking Sunday’s with Hetty but as I said I ran out of things to bake in the end. There are a million things to bake so it sounds wired to run out of things to bake. But I’m confident that when I learn how to bake a dessert pie I will have a lot of baking to do. But for now, I don’t know how to bake a dessert pie, so until then the pie subject has to be put on hold.

I can’t help it but talk about fall, fall means pumpkins I do love a good pumpkin spiced latte. This fall I’m going to make pumpkin muffins and I’m really excited about it. I don’t always have the best of luck when it comes to baking muffins, they always taste good but most of them look like a car crash. But ever since I bought a muffin tray they’ve turned out better than before. Progress, practice, and failing will lead to success if you keep on trying. So hopefully my pumpkin muffins will taste great and look better than crash.

Fall is such a beautiful time of the year and there are so many dishes you can make that you don’t eat during the summer, then there is the harvest festivals and the fall food markets. The list is long when it comes to great things about a new season. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer and spring and winter as well. I love all the seasons, they all have their beauties.

I’m signing off the kitchen for today and I’m super excited about tomorrows weekly update, I can’t wait to share next weeks upcoming posts with all of you tomorrow.
