Friday, the weekend is here and after a long week I still have a lot of work left that needs to be done this weekend. A writers life, and to be honest I love it. Looks like yesterday’s post about salmon wraps didn’t hit a home run, but one can not hit a home run everyday. But hopefully this post will get a better response.
As many of you already know I love fall, and I’m kick starting fall one month early. I love pumpkins, I love when the leafs starts to change color, and when you go for a walk outside it’s a orange/red/yellow as long as they eye can see. It’s so beautiful, the season changes and a new season is upon us. A colder season, a season perfect for hot chocolate and pumpkin pies. Waking up during fall, looking outside your bedroom window and see all the leafs changing day by day. The air is different, colder, yet not too cold. You have to put away your summer clothing and take out your fall collection. Thicker sweaters, finding your favorite boots and your favorite jackets that you haven’t used since early spring. It’s almost like a a reunion with your outfits from last fall and spring. You go out side for a walk, the air starts getting colder, and day by day it get’s colder and colder. You come home from a long walk with your pockets full of new fallen leaf, and as you enter your house you realize that fall have come to stay, you decide to make a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows, and take out a small piece of left over pumpkin pie from the fridge. Then you light some candles and sit down in your living room, at this point it’s pouring outside, and you turn on the TV and watch your favorite fall movie.
That right there is some of the reasons I love fall so much. Today I’m giving you my very own family recipe for Hot chocolate with marshmallows. It’s a simple recipe, and it’s really good. I hope y’all like this recipe more than yesterday’s.
1 Mug of milk
1 Teaspoon Sugar
1 TBS Cacao ( You can use Nesquick)
- Fill up your favorite hot chocolate mug with milk, it’s perfect for measuring up how much milk you will be needing.
- Add the milk into a pot, add in one teaspoon of sugar, and heat it up. When it starts to get warm ad one TBS cacao or nesquick. Stir at all times so the milk doesn’t stick.
- When the cacao is well blended with the milk let it heat up for another 2 minutes. Don’t let the milk reach a boiling point. Simply keep it heated and warm without boiling it.
- Pour the hot chocolate into your favorite mug and add inn one large or several small marshmallows. You can also add whipped cream on top if wanted.
My mom used to make me this all the time when I was a kid, and I loved it. She teached me a long time ago how to make it and I’m forever grateful. I hope you like this recipe as much as we do.
I hope all of you are having an amazing day and I hope to see you back here tomorrow for a new post.
