Hetty’s Sunday life and a good leftover meat sause recipe

Hey everyone!

When you’re in your twenties life is full of possibilities and amazing things. We might look at the world in a slightly different way. We have a ton of optimism and we’re all about discovering what the world has to offer.  I’m 28 and I feel great, It’s sad to think about that I only have a couple of years left in my twenties until I reach the thirties. But I tend to make the best of what’s left of my twenties and I’m going to rock it. I’m going to complete my bucket list of fun things to do, and I’m going to work as hard as I can to make my career go to next level by the day I turn thirty. I’m looking forward to that. Even though life sometimes is a rollercoaster, in the end, it’s all about how you can turn a negative situation into something positive. Most of my friends have kids, are married and live a family lifestyle. Her I am, 28, single and no kids. Even though I get tired of swiping left and right on Tinder, and a little pissed that dating sites are crazy expensive these days, I think about the positive thing in this situation and that is that in fact being single gives me the freedom to focus on my career. But I have to say I miss being in a relationship but I’m calm, and I’m sure that the right guy will arrive in my life at the right time. Everything happens for a reason and everything happens when it’s supposed to and not a minute too late and not a minute too early. Truth be told, I haven’t been working hard enough and living my twenties to my best abilities. But it’s never too late to start. ( Well, I guess it’s too late if you’re not in your twenties anymore. I mean, it’s hard living the best of your twenties when you’re in your thirties. That said, if you’re in your thirties it’s time to live your life to the best of your ability and to live the amazing thirty lifestyles and experience the best of what the thirties have to offer.

It’s Sunday, we’re all tired and having a family couch day. We’re all crashed on the couch binge watching season one of Younger. I know, I’m a little late to the party. But at least I’m finally here, better late than never. And to answer any questions, YES this show is as good as you’ve heard, even better.

From my twenty-something lifestyle to something food related. Remember earlier this week I made a pasta meat sauce from scratch? well, today is the day to eat the leftovers that I put in the freezer. Lucky me, I also had some rice in the kitchen cabinets and last but not least I had aroma mushrooms that I was supposed to use for the chicken risotto which for obvious reasons didn’t happen. Remember I said everything happens for a reason? well, I guess the reason they were out of chicken in the store was that I was supposed to use the mushrooms for today’s leftover dish instead of in a risotto.

Note: You can make this dish for the whole family by making the sauce linked below.

The leftover meat sauce or make it again from scratch if wanted.( Hetty’s meat sauce for a rainy day. )

8 medium-sized Aroma mushrooms

Grated parmesan

  1. Heat up the meat sauce, or make it from scratch.
  2. Cook the rice as much as you want. Slice up the mushrooms and let them simmer in a skillet with some butter.
  3.  Serve the meat sauce and the rice in seperate serving bowls. Pour the mushrooms on top of the meat sauce before serving.
  4. Put a stick of parmesan on the table with a small grater ( That way people can choose if they want parmesan on top or not.)

It’s easy as pie, either you cook it from scratch or not.  I love how something so simple and easy can come out so tasty and flavorful at the same time.

I don’t know what tomorrow might bring but what I do know is that I will be writing a post about the recipes coming up next week, I’m super excited about it. I managed to figure out a whole weeks worth of menu in less than half a day which in fact gave me more time to work on my book. Pretty perfect if you ask me.

I hope y’all are having an amazing Sunday so far, and I hope to see y’all back here tomorrow for a new post.
