I’ve been distant lately, it’s not been my intention. It just happened. The thing is that I haven’t been feeling all that well the past 8 days, so I haven’t been able to cook anything interesting. I simply don’t want to eat because it makes me feel worse. But I do eat, but no new recipes etc. But hopefully I will feel better soon, and in the meantime, I will be posting something every day either way. But it might be more food talk related post, rather than recipes until I feel a little better. This was not the way I wanted to start off 2019, a new year. But I will do my best to make the best of it.
I’m going to kick start the new year by talking about food markets and farmers markets. I love going to the market on a Saturday or Sunday, pick up some fresh ingredients for my Saturday or Sunday dinner party, or family dinner. By shopping at your local food market or farmers market you know what you get. You know the vegetables, meat, or whatever you’re int he mood for buying are fresh. That’s one of the things I love about food markets. I also love that there are so much to choose from and you should almost know what you’re going to buy before going there because it’s easy to get a little carried away and buy more than you should or more than you need.
One of my top ten food markets I’ve been to have to be in Italy. The atmosphere, the people, the smell, the whole setting, the heat and the products they where selling. I mean, what’s not to love. It’s like every chef’s/ home cook’s dream to be going for a walk among the greatest and freshest ingredients you’ll ever see, in a small village in say Tuscany or any small village alongside Lake Garda. It’s epic, and it’s not without reason it’s on my top ten list of food markets I’ve been to/visited. This year, this spring I will be going to several food markets and farmers markets and I’m really excited about that. Will they get on my top ten list? I don’t know yet, that is yet to be seen. But I’m positive and I hope that this new adventures spring will be amazing.
Do have a favorite food market? maybe you live in a small town in Alabama, or a large city like New York and maybe you got the best food market or farmers market in the world? IF you do have a place you want me to visit or if you think you have the greatest food market ever in your home town, please write me a comment or send me an e-mail and tell me all about it, I would love to know.
I’m signing off Hetty’s home kitchen today with actually feeling a hint of apatite after talking about food markets, maybe I will be feeling even better tomorrow.
I hope all of you are having an amazing Tuesday so far, and I hope to see y’all back here tomorrow for a new post.
