Herbs & life!

Herbs, something I love to use in my cooking. During the summer I always plant a few of my favorite herbs out in our garden, or in a large flower pot on the deck in out bakyard. Currently I don’t really have a backyard, nor a larger deck on the other side of my house. But now that I’m moving to a new apartment that is even smaller then the one I live in now, It’s going to be a challenge. But I mgiht have a plan, I don’t have the details yet but I’m working on something that might work wonders for my new lounge area. I do have jacuzzi on the deck in my backyard that is taking up quit a lot of space, but I love it. I’m working my way around it, to make it an amazing outdoor area for me and the dogs. I’m excited about getting the chance to creat a a whole new outdoor area, even though the space is limited. I can make anything work with some plants, some herbs, dining area and lounge area. I already have a lot of ideas so this should be fun, and I can’t wait to share it all with all of you when it’s all ready this spring.

Back to the herbs, I’m not very good at keeping herbs alive during the winter in my own kitchen. Either I give them too much or too little water. No matter how hard I try I seem to be killing all the herbs, but on the otherhand, If I’ve planted the herbs out on the pattio I have no problem with keeping them alive. I don’t really know why, but it is what it is I guess.

When I do have herbs that are alive and well, I use them a lot in my cooking. Fresh herbs gives the food such an amazing flavor, and it can transform almost any dish from boring and bland to flavorful and you can use it to make a dish look appealing as well by using it as garnish. There are no limits to what you can use fresh herbs to. Dinner, lunch, breakfast, brunch, dessert. There is always a dish in need of some extra falvor or a fresh look out there.

I bought some fresh herbs today because I was in need of some Italian flavors for my dinner this week. Some of the dishes I’m making this week are recipes I’ve posted here before, so I’m not going to re-post all of them, but I will on the other hand re-post some of them. But I also have a couple of new recipes coming out this week that I’m excited about sharing with all of you.

It’s 1 p.m and I have to get back to my writing, but I will be back with a new ” Life on the move” post later on today. 🙂 So stay tuned, and I would be super excited if you dropped by later on today for a new post. 🙂
