Hetty’s Pasta with red pesto

Hey everyone!

The weather is amazing today, not too hot and not too cold. Perfect for some afternoon writing in the shawdow on the patio with a cup of coffee to go with the day.

I was at the grocery store earlier today and I was standing in between the pasta shelfs. Just stairing at the pasta, sometimes that’s when you get the best ideas. I was thinking to myself ” what can I make of what I have, how can i supply that with something affordable. I didn’t have a lot of money left, and I needed to think outside of the box to make everything work. So I thought about what I had at home, I bought something affordable to with it and I came up with this great idea on how to imporve my imporved pasta dish. It sounds wired but sometimes all a dish needs is an improvemnet even though it’s already been improved. Does that make sense? at least that is what I did and the result was mindblowing!

Ingredients to make Hetty’s Pasta with Red pesto:

400g Ground beef 

1 Glass ofMarinara sauce

2 ts Pesto

1 Large Shalott

1/2 Onion

2 Stick of celery 

1 Ts Powdered dark beef broth

1 box of canned sliced mushrooms

Pepper 

Nutmeg

Pasta rossa – Santa Maria spice mix

Roasted garlic and pepper Santa Maria spice mix 

Allaround seasoning mix

Butter

Pasta ( I used linguini)

How to make Hetty’s Pasta with Red Pesto;

  1. Peel and finely chop the onion and the shallot. Wash and clean the celery before finely chopping it. Add some water and the powdered beef broth into a large saucepan and put it on the stove for boiling.
  2. Add some butter into a frying pan and add in the onions, shallots, and celery. Season with pepper and grated nutmeg, let it simmer for a couple of minutes before adding in the ground beef. Then season again with All around seasoning mix, roasted garlic and pepper spice mix, pasta Rossa spice mix, and pepper. Let it cook until the ground beef has reached a golden brown color. Then add in the canned mushrooms, the pesto, and let it cook for about 2 minutes before adding in your marinara sauce.
  3. When you add in the marinara sauce, add the pasta of your choice to the boiling water and let it cook as written on the label. Cook the meat sauce for as long as the pasta.
  4. When the pasta is done, drain the water and add it into a serving bowl, add the meat sauce on top and mix it all well together beofre serving.

You can garnish your dish with fresh basil if you want, and always remember to serve any pasta dish with parmasan, add some grated parmasan to a bowl and put it on the table so that people can add as little or as much as they want to on their dish.
